- Concerned About The Effects Of EMF On Pacemakers Or Implants?
- Need To Assess The Workplace Of A Worker With A Medical Device?
- Require A Chartered Radiation Specialist To Review Equipment Safety?
Pacemakers and other active or passive implanted medical devices can be highly susceptible to electromagnetic fields. Because of this, legislation was introduced in the form of the Control of Electromagnetic Fields at Work Regulations (CEMFAW) 2016. This places more restrictive limits on the amount of EMF an employee with a pacemaker or other implant can be exposed to. We regularly perform ‘back to work’ EMF surveys for workers recently fitted with electronic medical devices such as pacemakers.
EMFcomp is a specialist organisation with a proven track record in assessing whether or not a workplace is safe for a worker with an implanted medical device. Assessments should only be conducted by qualified surveyors, i.e. Chartered Radiation Protection Professionals (CRadP) with the Society for Radiological Protection (SRP). The Chartered Radiation Protection Professionals at EMFcomp can provide expert advice on EMF solutions, risk management and exclusion zones for pacemaker or defibrillator wearers.
Selected organisations we have worked with include: The European Commission • AT&T • EDF Energy • Nissan • • Public Health England • Royal Society of Canada • Jaguar Land Rover • BT • TDK Lambda • Queen Mary University London • Capita • WSP • Glasgow Airport • ABB • BT Sport • Mitsubishi • Newcastle University • Siemens
Our company is a specialist in authoritative EMF safety advice and services. We recently co-wrote the European Commission’s Guide on EMF Safety, ‘The Practical Guide to the EMF Directive’ that forms the basis for assessing compliance with new UK EMF legislation ‘The Control of Electromagnetic Fields at Work Regulations 2016’ (CEMFAW). The advice, measurement and modelling services that we provide in electromagnetic safety are based on the published scientific research.
